A syringe contains 20 ml of spore solution, enough to inoculate 6-7 liters of substrate. With the mushroom spores syringe you will only need to drop 3 milliliter of spore solution to colonize 1 liter or 1.05 quart of substrate. Edible, medicinal or psilocybe mushroom strains need different substrates to grow on. This can be done by inoculating a substrate, a soil with nutritions specially developed for growing mushrooms. If you want to reproduce spores it will be needed to fruit some mushrooms from the chosen mushroom spores. The inoculation of substrate with spores syringe Have a look at the shape, size and color of the spores and what kind you have. Take a cover glass and put this on the drop of spores. Shake the spore syringe and add one drop of spore solution on to the microscope slide. Get a microscope slide and clean it properly. The spore syringe is now ready for further use, like microscopic research or ready to inoculate a sterile substrate. Before use shake the spore syringe for a few seconds. Remove the needle from it's sterile package (leave the protection cap on the needle) and attach it to the spore syringe. Unscrew the the cap from the spore syringe by turning it counter clockwise. Hold the syringe with the cap pointing up. Take spore syringe with the cap still on it. The syringe is sealed with a cap, called luer lock.
